Table....t

Wed May 4, 2005, 5:31 PM
I ordered a shiny new Wacom Intuos3 last night. So perhaps this will spur me on to start updating again. Its not like I haven't been doing anything. I just haven't done anything I want to submit here.

That is all.

what the?

Somehow I got a subscription. Dunno how it happened. Did someone buy one for me? Is DA giving out free subscriptions to people? This perplexes me.

I just noticed that the email link on my user page was pointing to a now dead email addy. Sorry to those who have been trying to contact my via that email. I have fixed the problem.

Three Dee

Until I get a tablet (which could be a while, due to my purchase of Doom 3), most deviations that I submit will be of the 3D variety. I'm currently getting down some ideas for a possible animated series, which will be a combination of 3D models, rendered out in to vector, so that I can animate them in flash.

The cricket model is not from this project, but from a TAFE assignment.

When I get off my arse and get down some character concepts I'll submit some more stuff.

Anyways, just checking in. Toodleoo.

EDIT: And woah, it was about this time last year that I joined deviantart.

...a whole year and I haven't even cracked 1,000 pageviews yet. I HATE YOU DEVIANTART COMMUNITY!

(I can say that, cos nobody will ever see it).

Lack of anything

I keep meaning to draw something, but I can never build up the motivation.

The problem with laziness is that you never get anything done.

However, I have devised a plan to make me draw more. It involves buying a Wacom tablet.

See, half the reason I can't be bothered drawing anymore, is because if I want to finish the drawing, I have to ink it. Then scan it. Then clean it up in photoshop, then blah blah blah blah blah-de-fucking-blah.

If I had a tablet, I could draw straight in to photoshop.

I have a question for those in the know. I'm looking at getting either a 6x9 Graphire3 or an Intuos2 of the same size. The problem is the price difference between the two. Is the extra money really worth it for the Intuos? Is there anything that the Intuos has, that can't be easily replicated in photoshop? Is the extra resolution and pressure sensitivity really worth it? The tilt? would that be useful for someone with my drawing style?

Any opinions or help on the matter would be muchly appreciated.
